Artist Spotlight: Laura Abrams

"I am inspired by the natural world, with a special fondness for wild animals and landscapes. In taking these interests as subjects of collage, I attempt to highlight the habitat homes within idealized images, presenting thin slices to reveal the flora and fauna not shown in the pretty pictures. In multilayered compositions, these works are rich with both materials and meanings, as I fold in a conservation message within each little world.”
