Artist Spotlight: Lucy Ames (USA)

“Just as I set out on a hike with a sense of adventure, delighting the surprises that Nature has in store for me, so too do I approach my art with a similar curiosity. A key component of my art is the use of monoprints created using a gel plate.  These are created with actual plants or with stencils I make based on the plants and trees I see on my walks. Using multiple layers of these prints and additional paint, my work celebrates both the wonder of art making and the beauty of nature.”
